About me

My name is Simon, I’m a freelance web designer based in Nottingham. I’m currently working for a large digital marketing agency based in Nottingham, Adtrak.

I’m a dedicated, knowledgeable and highly skilled freelance web designer with over 15 years of commercial experience, I help businesses make an online presence with bespoke solutions tailored to their needs.

I’ve worked on a variety of projects in the past for EMI records and Sony, for artists such as Kylie Minogue, Simon Webb and Chemical Brothers to name but a few. I’ve designed and developed websites for one of the UK’s leading textile’s companies Margo Selby and historic footwear manufacturer John White Shoes London. My most recent project was designing and developing a new and improved website for a nationwide removals company who have seen a significant increase in traffic to their website.

I pride myself on the ability to deliver useful and visually-appealing websites, no matter what the scale. From concept to creation to completion I’m with you every step of the way.

my history

My career as a web designer started many years ago after first completing a BND in IT Practionioners and then a Foundation Degree in Multimedia at New College Nottingham.

In 2006 I started work at my first agency FlexyWeb, here I continued to learn and develop my skills becoming fluent in HTML and CSS. I worked with a small team of skilled colleagues, with a variety of clients in many different sectors. I visited clients around the UK, including; Max and Sid in Manchester, Margo Selby in Whitstable and John White Shoes in London.

I was a web designer for over 7 years at FlexyWeb before leaving to start a new chapter at another agency just outside Nottingham City Centre, at FAH I continued to develop my knowledge and skills working on bespoke websites built on WordPress and developing custom Woocommecre online stores for clients such as Laurie & Jules, W Slack and Sons and Arcane Models and Scenery.

After 4 years at working for this company, I left to start a new career at Adtrak where I’ve continued to develop my knowledge and skills in PHP, SCSS and Gulp. Whilst being employed at Adtrak I’ve worked on a range of clients in different commercial sectors from concrete suppliers through to swimming pool builders in the USA.

Since 2010 I’ve undertaken freelance work, working with individuals and agencies to build up my own portfolio of clients, which I continue to build upon through iamsi.
